May 5, 2020 Cinco de Mayo
Contrary to popular belief, Cinco de Mayo is not Mexico's Independence Day. Mexican independence is celebrated Sept.16.
Cinco de Mayo commemorates the Mexican army's unlikely victory over the French forces of Napoleon III on May 5, 1862, at the Battle of Puebla.
Mexico had trouble paying back war debts to European countries, and France had come to Mexico to collect that debt.
Today, Cinco de Mayo has become more of an American holiday than a Mexican one. But most non-Mexican Americans have "no idea" about the day's history, said Carlos Tortolero, president of the National Museum of Mexican Art in Chicago.

Science
Login to Google Classroom and Look under classwork for Newton's First Law Bulls eye Challenge.
Objective: To get a ball/object to land in a bucket/target while running/jogging past the target.
Procedure:
1. Watch the video "Newton's First Law Bulls eye Challenge".
2. Place a target or a bucket a few meters away from you.
3. Hold the ball close to your body and jog/run towards the target and pass it.
4. Drop the ball as you continually stay in motion (do not throw it) so that it lands in the bucket or on the target. (Remember: An object in motion stays in motion unless an outside force acts upon it. It would be best to drop the ball/object before passing the target because it will still be in motion.)
5. Leave a comment. Let me know if you were successful. What was your strategy? How many attempts did it take?
Feel free to send me photos or video. It would be great to see you and your family trying this activity! Have fun!

Have fun!
